About The New Wild

The New Wild is a multidisciplinary art group founded that brings together mid-career artists, writers, scholars, and technologists in a rigorously collaborative environment to create large-scale theater, opera, and spectacles. We tell visceral and visual stories that examine cultural memory and elevate voices not often included in the dominant cultural conversation. Our practices and our productions combine stunning visual design with compelling narratives to engage audiences in New York, across the US, and around the world.

Projects in development include Tear a Root from the Earth, a new musical that examines the legacy of American intervention in Afghanistan, Letters from Home, a multimedia performance in collaboration with a Cambodian-American father and daughter team that explores the impact of the Khmer Rouge genocide on their artistic practices, and Everybody is Gone, an immersive performance installation responding to ongoing crimes against humanity against the Uyghur people.

Our work has been presented by The Kennedy Center, BRIC, The New Ohio, SXSW, VoxFest, Dartmouth College, Madrid Theatre, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, Willamette University, LA Mission College, and received support from the National Endowment for Democracy, Brooklyn Arts Council, LA Department of Cultural Affairs, The Puffin Foundation, NET/TEN, CalArts, Bard College, ChaShaMa, among others.
